Covenant

What Quran Says About Covenant?

(Aaahd)

Fulfil the Covenant of Allah when ye have entered into it, and break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allah your surety; for Allah knoweth all that ye do. [16:91]

Nor sell the covenant of Allah for a miserable price: for with Allah is (a prize) far better for you, if ye only knew.[16:95]

As for those who sell the faith they owe to Allah and their own plighted word for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter: Nor will Allah (Deign to) speak to them or look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He cleans them (of sin): They shall have a grievous penalty. [3:77]

Those who break Allah's Covenant after it is ratified, and who sunder what Allah Has ordered to be joined, and do mischief on earth: These cause loss (only) to themselves. [2:27]

But those who break the Covenant of Allah, after having plighted their word thereto, and cut asunder those things which Allah has commanded to be joined, and work mischief in the land;- on them is the curse; for them is the terrible home! [13:25]

And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers." [2:124]

O Children of Israel ! call to mind the (special) favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant with Me as I fulfil My Covenant with you, and fear none but Me. [2:40]

So Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. He said: "O my people! did not your Lord make a handsome promise to you? Did then the promise seem to you long (in coming)? Or did ye desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you, and so ye broke your promise to me?" [20:86]

And they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days:" Say: "Have ye taken a promise from Allah, for He never breaks His promise? or is it that ye say of Allah what ye do not know?" [2:80]

Has he penetrated to the Unseen, or has he taken a contract with ((Allah)) Most Gracious? [19:78]

None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from ((Allah)) Most Gracious. [19:87]

Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless. [2:100]

Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient.[7:102]

How can there be a league, before Allah and His Messenger, with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for Allah doth love the righteous. [9:7]

(But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term: for Allah loveth the righteous. [9:4]

But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they may be restrained. [9:12]

They are those with whom thou didst make a covenant, but they break their covenant every time, and they have not the fear (of Allah.. [8:56]

And yet they had already covenanted with Allah not to turn their backs, and a covenant with Allah must (surely) be answered for. [33:15]

And come not nigh to the orphan's property, except to improve it, until he attain the age of full strength; give measure and weight with (full) justice;- no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear;- whenever ye speak, speak justly, even if a near relative is concerned; and fulfil the covenant of Allah. thus doth He command you, that ye may remember. [6:152]

Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). [17:34]

Nay.- Those that keep their plighted faith and act aright,-verily Allah loves those who act aright. [3:76]

Those who fulfil the covenant of Allah and fail not in their plighted word; [13:20]

Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; [23:8]

And those who respect their trusts and covenants; [70:32]
