11. My local coffeeshop

In the afternoons I love to spend time with my friends.

We meet in the coffeeshop.

Here I can stay all evening.
nahnu nashrabu l-qahwa, nalcabu l-duwmīnuw, wa natakallam.
We drink coffee, play domino, and talk.
wa lākin cindamā yakūn butrus hunāk, 'anā 'ughādir.
But when Butros is there, I leave.
cindamā yatakallam lā yastatīca 'ayyi shakhs 'an yatakallam.
When he talks, nobody else can talk.
'anā 'azunn 'annahu yuhibb samac sawtahu.
I think he loves to listen to his own voice.
'al-'asdiqā'u l-'akharūn hum 'asdiqā' qudāmā.
The other friends are old friends.
hum mithla 'al-cā'ila.
They are like a family.
